I chose this news because it is very interesting. I chose it because I like to know about the Bible and its storys because many people think that the Bible is not true.
Summary:
Archaeologists found five lines on pottery that appear to be the oldest Hebrew text ever found and are likely to have a major impact on knowledge about the history of literacy and alphabet development.
That discover occured in the verdant Valley of Elah, where the Bible says David toppled Goliath.
Archaeologists want to discover if the story of David and his kingdom is true or not. They discovered two burned olive pits found at the site have been tested for carbon-14 at Oxford University and were found to date from between 1050 and 970 B.C., exactly when most chronologies place David as king.
For many Jews and Christians, even those who do not take Scripture literally, the Bible is a vital historical source.
DIG: the careful removal of earth and objects from an area of historical interest:an archaeological dig
POTTERY: the activity or skill of making clay objects by hand.
Objects that are made out of clay by hand: They sell pottery and other handmade goods.
